1875 - The North Pacif1c Coast Railroad Company bought the picnic grounds and established the park as a destination point during their first year of operation to stimulate passenger travel on the train. The original area of the park was over 60 acres, bounded on the east by Bolinas Road and on the north by the railroad, paralleling today's Broadway. |
